The Waco Symphony Council Belle and Brass program is an outstanding program for young ladies and gentlemen who have a love for music and a desire to be more involved in our community. This exceptional program is designed for young ladies who are entering their sophomore year in high school and young men entering their junior year in high school. Participants of this program attend schools throughout Central Texas, both public and private.

The Junior Belle program was established in 1965 for the dual purpose of raising money for the WSO and for providing a cultural experience for young women in their junior year of high school. In 1988 the Belle program was expanded to a two year program and sophomore girls were included. In 1990 the Council introduced a similar program for young men in their junior year of high school.

Through this program young ladies and men learn to appreciate the fine arts and the excellent symphony orchestra that we are fortunate enough to have in our community. They are given the opportunity to gain educational and cultural experiences that cannot be found in any other organization in our community. Seminars on concert etiquette, music appreciation and manners are planned throughout the year. Our Belle's and Brass also have the opportunity to volunteer for the Symphony Showhouse and Zoo Tunes. At the completion of the program, the Junior Belles and Brass are presented at a Waco Symphony Orchestra at Waco Hall on the Baylor Campus. The Waco Symphony Council hosts a reception in their honor after the concert.
