Waco Symphony Council Membership

Dear Prospective Council Member:

Ballet, Botti, Twins, and a Wolf are coming to Waco Hall. The 2018-19 Season of the Waco Symphony Orchestra is nothing short of eclectic and has something for everyone this Season. Chris Botti album cover The Waco Symphony Orchestra begins its 57th Season delivering world class symphonic music to Waco and the Central Texas area. The Waco Symphony Council provides education, community involvement, and activities that expand musical knowledge and forms lasting friendships while supporting our Orchestra.

The variety of musical presentations for the 2018-2019 Season is truly exceptional. The Season will open in October 2018 with a performance by violinist, Corey Cerovsek. Not only is he an exceptional violinist, he graduated from Indiana University with his bachelor and master’s degrees in music and math at age 16. In November we are pleased to have Grammy award winner Chris Botti return to perform with our Orchestra. He has performed with everyone from Sting to Yo-Yo Ma. This will indeed be a treat for the eyes and ears.

In December we will have the Ballet Frontier of Texas perform the holiday classic and favorite The Nutcracker. This is always a treat for children and grownups alike.

We start the new year with pianist Gabriela Martinez, who made her orchestral debut at age 7 and was a semi-finalist at the twelfth Van Cliburn International Piano Competition. The Council will present our Belles and Brass at the March concert which will feature and all orchestral performance showcasing our wonderful musicians.

However, we’ve saved the best for last at our April concert. The Orchestra will feature twins and local favorites Haeun Moon and Hayoung Moon on violin and cello AND a reading of Peter and the Wolf by none other than actor Henry Winkler (yes, the Fonz from Happy Days).

The Council has supported the Orchestra since its founding in 1965 the Council is committed to continuing and expanding the growth of the WSO. We encourage and invite you to join our ranks, get involved with Council projects, and volunteer.
